Gross to net salary simulator
Enter a gross salary, a net salary or the total employer cost: the simulator works out the other two amounts, the employee and employer contributions and, with your withholding rate, the net after tax.
Shown on your tax notice or payslip. Leave 0 to ignore income tax.
Loading the calculation model…
Calculations based on Urssaf's open source model (mon-entreprise.urssaf.fr), run in your browser. Indicative estimate: it replaces neither a payslip nor professional advice.
How to read the result
- The gross salary is the base of the employment contract. Employee contributions are deducted to get the net before tax.
- The net after tax is what reaches the bank account: the simulator applies your withholding rate to the taxable net.
- The employer cost is the gross salary plus employer contributions: what the salary really costs the company.
- A SASU president or a minority SARL manager is close to an employee: the director pay simulator details it.
What the simulator does not cover
The calculation is for a standard full-time contract, with no exemption or special scheme (apprenticeship, internship, hiring aid…). Your payslip remains the reference: collective agreements, health plans and bonuses can change the result.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between gross and net salary?
Gross is the salary before employee contributions. Net is what remains after them, before income tax. Net after tax is the amount actually paid once withholding is taken.
What is the total employer cost?
The gross salary plus employer contributions. It is the real expense of the company for an employee.
Where do the contribution rates come from?
From the open source model published by Urssaf, the one behind mon-entreprise.urssaf.fr. The rates are not written in FactureLibre: they follow the model.
Why does my result differ from my payslip?
A payslip includes your collective agreement, health plan, bonuses and benefits. The simulator gives an order of magnitude for a standard contract.
